Who Needs It
Live-In Care is recommended for individuals who require a high level of attention during the day but who are still able to sleep comfortably through the night. These individuals CANNOT be left alone as they may be suffering from advanced dementia, Parkinson’s disease or another type of illness which makes it increasingly difficult for them to handle their normal daily activities without help.
Arranging for Live-In Care will make their lives more comfortable. It will also give you and family increased peace of mind knowing that a watchful caregiver is in the home full-time.
In order to qualify for Live-In Care, you must be able to provide a separate bedroom for the live-in aide.
Services Provided By Our Live-In Aides
A live-in aide will provide one-on-one care for your loved one, ensure that their home is safe, and assist with activities of daily living such as:
- Dressing and grooming
- Mobility assistance
- Light housekeeping
- Meal preparation
- Medication management
- Health monitoring (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, observation of health changes)
- Escort to doctor or other appointments or social outings
- Engagement in physical activities (e.g. walks)
Please note: Live-In Care does not include overnight care although our aides will help with toileting and act as a safety net in case of emergency.
If your loved one consistently requires assistance more than twice during the night, it may be necessary to explore other home care options.
